The State of Uttar Pradesh has seen the appearance and fall of different domains over the span of its history. From the appearance of Mugals work until the departure of British, U.p. has crossed paths with everything. Almost all the rulers who have governed Uttar Pradesh in the process of history have left their imprints regarding construction of great architecters. Mugals, Nawabs of Oudh, Talukedars and British:-every last one of them have committed to the engineering legacy of Uttar Pradesh. Because of their single and aggregate commitments, Uttar Pradesh today gloats off a portion of the most famous indian landmarks in whole planet.
In spite of the fact that, the structural legacy is obvious in all the urban areas of the State and it is not possible to give a complete description in this blog, but I introduce the pearls of engineering adornments, primarily arranged in 3 urban areas Agra, Lucknow and Varanasi. Talking of landmarks we should begin from the monarch around all; The Taj Mahal. So much have been discussed on The Taj by so many that there is nothing left to talk about it. As I mentioned earlier it’s the creation of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It’s an epitome of eternal love. Its incomplete if we not mention One of the seven wonders of the world.
Agra, the city of Taj, has substantially progressive on its platter. You can appreciate the heavenly style of structures inside the Agra Fort that stands gladly even 400 years later from the date of its developments.
The naqqashi works that has been finished in the edifices such as Dewan-e-Aam and Diwan-e-Khas are wonderful.
Fatehpur Sikri, arranged 50 kilometers off Agra, has an additional bunch of landmarks. Buland Darwaza, the most noteworthy gateway in Asia. Salim Chisti mausoleum and Panch Mahal stand gladly in its premises.
The tomb of Akbar the Great at Sikandara is another major attraction in Agra.
Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh and past Oudh, has numerous landmarks worth relishing. The most outstanding among them is Bada Imambada. This place of worship has an unique importance for the Shiite Muslims in India. The ceiling fixtures and other glass items enrich the internal sanctum of this spot.
The Hussainabad Clock Tower is truly the finest structure of British architecture in India.
The Rumi Darwaza that monitors the passageway of old Hussainabad in Lucknow is a different landmark of brilliance.
Similarly great are Chhota Imambada and Shah Najaf Imambara. These edifices were developed under sustenance for work programs started by the then Nawab of Oudh who needed to assist his subjects who were experiencing starvation.
Around the structures of British period the most eminent one is the Church complex of Sardhana that was developed by Begum Shamru who was wedded to a British colonel. Similarly significant is ‘the Residency’ in Lucknow that used to be the habitation cum office of the Resident General of Oudh.
Varanasi, the place that is known for Varanasi (Kashi) has been a definitive journey spot for Hindus for older ages. Regularly implied as Benares, Varanasi is the most senior living city on the planet. These few words by Mark Twain say everything :
“Benaras is more senior than history, more advanced in years than custom, more senior even than legend and looks twice as old as every last one of them assemble”. Ganges is said to have its beginnings in the tresses of Lord Shiva and in Varanasi. A portion of the most significant temples of Varanasi are Durga temple, Vishwanath temple, Sankat Mochan temple, Tulsi Manas temple and the Bharat Mata temple.
These are some of the historical places of Uttar Pradesh which can be included in famous Indian landmarks. Apart from these major historical places in India, UP also has a number of minor monuments that lay scattered in each and every corners of the state.
